An accomplished strategic advisor, Julia Cominos has extensive experience in helping companies to develop growth strategies and improve operational efficiency. Aside from her professional endeavors, Julia Cominos enjoys skiing, especially at the Snowmass ski resort in Aspen, Colorado.
Largely due to the consistent snowfall in the Rockies during the 2018-19 winter season, Aspen welcomed more skiers and other tourists than in the year prior. The three airlines flying to and from the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport reported a total of 9,000 round-trip passengers in December 2018, which was a 16 percent increase over December 2017. The increase in passengers continued into January and February 2019, with roughly an 11 percent increase in travelers in both of those months compared to the year before.
Skico, which issues lift tickets for Snowmass, reported that local pass use rose 40 percent over the previous season. Overall, the town of Aspen had its second-highest occupancy ever in February 2019 at 78.7 percent, and the village of Snowmass set a new record with reported occupancy at 81.2 percent during the same month.
